Lithuanian Embassy in New Delhi today signed the agreement to fund the production of face masks in Bhutan. The project will supplement Royal Government’s of Bhutan efforts in controlling the spread of COVID-19 and will allow to produce locally 46,000 two and three ply layer masks that primarily will be distributed to the frontline workers and those who need them most.

On 26 May, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Albinas Zananavičius participated in a video conference of Ministers for European Affairs. Ministers held an exchange of views on the EU response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the next Multi-AnnualFinancial Framework (MFF), and economic recovery.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani on his country’s Independence Day. On 26 May, Georgia marks the 102nd anniversary of the establishment of the first Democratic Republic.

On 22 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended an informal meeting of the United Nations Security Council, which was organized at Estonia’s initiative. The meeting mainly focused on cyber stability in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, conflict prevention, and capacity building for states to counter cyber threats. The Prime Minister of Estonia Jüri Ratas delivered the opening speech at the meeting.

On 20 May, the Government of Lithuania decided to allocate EUR 100,000 in humanitarian aid for the purchase of protective equipment manufactured in Lithuania for medical personnel and staff of other services that are helping to save lives in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
